Употребление модальных глаголов "may", "might", "can" и "could" в предположениях о том, что что-то может произойти в настоящем или будущем1)а) В утвердительных предложениях, выражающих предположение о том, что в настоящем или будущем что-то может происходить (произойти), используются глаголы may и might. б) С тем же значением предположения о возможности может употребляться глагол could, но не глагол can. could используется в случае, когда нет большой уверенности в том, что предположение является верным.Глагол could в данном значении используется по преимуществу в сочетании с глаголом be. 2) В вопросах о возможности глагол may и might практически не используются. Употребление модального глагола must, модальных конструкций have to и have got to1)а) Для сообщения о том, что нечто обязательно должно быть сделано, используется модальный глагол must, а также модальные конструкции have to и have got to. 11 needn't, don't need to, don't have to, mustn't
